UV verses LED Lamps, which one should I buy?

UV verses LED Lamps, which one should I buy?

Nails Queens, it's a confusing world out there in the Nail Tech Metaverse and we are here to make it simple.

Which lamp is best? Or which is for you? UV or LED?

And here’s the lowdown on UV and LED nail lamps:

1. Light Source

a. UV Lamps: Use broad-spectrum UV light that cures all types of gel polishes, but take longer.
    b. LED Lamps: Emit specific wavelengths of UV light, curing only LED-compatible gels (most modern gels). They're faster but might not work with some older or specialty gels.

        2. Speed

        a. UV Lamps: Typically take 2-3 minutes to cure each layer.
          b. LED Lamps: Cure in 30-60 seconds, so they’re a real time-saver.

              3. Lifespan

              a. UV Lamps: Bulbs need replacing after 100-200 hours of use.

              b. LED Lamps: Last 20,000-50,000 hours with no bulb replacements needed.

                4. Cost

                a. UV Lamps: Usually cheaper upfront but have higher maintenance costs (bulb replacements).

                b. LED Lamps: Pricier initially but save you money in the long run.

                  5. Gel Compatibility

                  a. UV Lamps: Work with all gel polishes.

                  b. LED Lamps: Limited to gels labeled as LED-compatible.

                    Quick Recap

                    a. Go UV if you want universal gel compatibility and don’t mind a slower cure.

                    b. Go LED if speed and long-term convenience are your top priorities.
